Elephone P9000 launched in India for INR 11,999

Chinese OEM, Elephone is striving to make its presence known in India with the arrival of the Elephone P9000 at Amazon. The device, which features a sweet deck of powerful specs, is retailing at only INR 11,999. This price is a steal, when you realize what this smartphone packs in.

Right off the bat, Elephone shows off the device with 1.6mm side bezels, which aren’t anywhere close to today’s competition, but are still thin nonetheless. The front of device touts a 5.5-inch FHD display with a single hardware navigation button. It may take some practice, but once you get the knack of it, navigation becomes a breeze.

The bottom of the device features a USB Type C port and the top carries a headphone jack, so no worries there. Coming to the sides of the device, things start to get interesting. The frame of the device is made of metal and is chamfered too. What’s more, Elephone has included a mute button on the left side and this can be remapped to anything you like, unlike a certain other device.

The Elephone P9000 is powered by the Helio P10 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (expandable to 64GB via microSD). The back of the device houses a snappy fingerprint sensor and a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor. The front facing camera carries an 8MP lens. The device gets its juice from a 3000mAh battery pack which is neatly packed into a 7.4mm thin body.

To top it all off, the smartphone ships with a near stock build of Android 7.0 Nougat. Overall, the Elephone P9000 is a very impressive package for INR 11,999. Your only concern would be brand awareness, but let’s not forget that leading “brands” sell similar devices at least twice the P9000’s price.

  1. Like they stated in the article,it might not be smart to buy from a manufacturer that is unheard of .Although the specs seam appealing and very tempting I would choose a manufacturer that has been in the market for a while . If it was not for that this phone is amazing and offers a lot of great specs at a real low price. This might be the go-to phone for people looking in the 10k region if they don’t mind about the brand

  3. this phone is more than a year old, if it was launched at the start of 2016 at this same price then it might had a better chance to have good sales but with competitors like redmi note4, Honor 6x and Moto G5 for the same price, there r only few people who will even consider buying this phone, since it’s not from a very renowned brand!!

  7. Well those specs are really impressive. The brand familiarity and reliability is a two sided coin.
On one side, we can stay safe by going for something familiar and safe since we don’t know how this company will fare in the future and might not provide any support at all, hardware or software.
Another way to look at it is, every company when starting is new and unfamiliar. We probably talked about Onepus and Xiaomi this way too and now we see them as reliable and promising, so it wouldn’t be so bad to take a leap of faith and go with this phone too.
