I know there are many people who fancy getting weather alerts (throughout the day) on their Android devices, it kind of gives the feel of a smartphone, but I guess there are more people who would actually prefer NOT to have the weather alerts appear every then and now on their notifications screen.
If you live in a region, where weather isn’t so jumpy and is stable for even weeks/months, it simply doesn’t make sense to have Weather alerts on your device. However, every Android device with the Google Search app, has Google Now enabled, and Google Now by default sends you weather alerts throughout the day without asking your permission for it.
Thankfully, it’s easy to toggle-off Weather card from Google Now. Just open the Google app on your device, and if there’s already a weather card on the app, tap the 3-dot menu on upper right corner of the card and select “Never show weather updates”.
If you don’t have a weather card currently available, you can also disable it from Google Now cards settings. Open Google app » go to “Settings” (from left slide-in panel) » select “Now cards” » scroll down a bit and turn off the “Weather” toggle.
That’s it. Once you’ve turned off Weather card under Google Now, you won’t be receiving weather alerts on your Android device from Google.
However, if you’ve installed other weather apps on your device, they may continue to send you weather alerts. OR if your device came with pre-installed weather app, then look inside the app’s settings to turn off notifications for weather alerts.
