We’re still a few days away from the official release of CyanogenMod 13, but that isn’t stopping the enthusiastic folks over at Galaxy S2 xda forums from developing a CM13 ROM for the device.

Galaxy S2 is one of the most celebrated Android device. It has a pretty good community that keeps the development going for it, and now it’ll be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release as well.

Developer Lysergic Acid over at xda has released a very very early build of CM13 for Galaxy S2. For the unknown, CM13 is the Marshmallow based release of CyanogenMod ROM.

CM13 itself is in very early stages at the moment, it’s not even buildable. But thanks to Lysergic Acid we have a Galaxy S2 CM13 ROM with us already. However, the truth remains that it is good for nothing for now.

We’re expecting CM13 to release in the next few days, and once it does, most of the bugs will be sorted out. You can then have Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on your Galaxy S2. Until then just enjoy 5.1.1 a little more.

You can track the development of CM13 for Galaxy S2 over at this xda thread. If you’re someone who help test/build the ROM, be sure to contact the developer.

Happy Androiding!
