Bell Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Release Date delayed to Nov 22

The one thing you have to hand to Samsung is that they produce a variety of devices to suit every pocket, literally and figuratively speaking. From the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 for the larger pockets, to the Galaxy S3 Mini, and the recently announced Galaxy Ace 2, for the smaller ones, pun intended.

Samsung had announced earlier that the mid-range Galaxy Ace 2 handset would be  heading towards Canada, to be available on Virgin Mobile and Bell. Originally scheduled for a November 15th release, an internal document from Bell Canada received by our friends at Mobile Syrup, shows that the release has been delayed by a week. The new dates are now November 22nd for the black version, and November 30th for the white colored Ace 2. Word is that the delay has been caused due to global product delays.

Interestingly, a similar reason was cited as the cause for the delay of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini in the UK, which leads us to wonder what’s going on at Samsung. The Galaxy Ace 2 is also going to be available in Canada through TELUS, Koodo and Virgin, and it is not likely that they would be sticking to the original schedule either.

For those who missed the bus, the Galaxy Ace 2 will arrive with an 800 MHz dual-core NovaThor processor and Mali 400MP GPU, 768MB RAM, 3.8″ WVGA IPS display, 5MP camera, 4GB internal storage expandable with microSD, 1,500 mAh battery, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with an update to Android 4.1 directly according to Samsung Bulgaria). Off contract outright pricing is estimated to be in the $200 – $250 range, which seems to be pretty competitive, given the more than decent specs.

The original Galaxy Ace was a resounding success, and there is no doubt that its successor the Galaxy Ace 2 will also make for an excellent mid-range device for the budget minded.
