AT&T releases new updates for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active and LG K20 update

ATT updates for Samsung, LG devices

US telecom major, AT&T has released OTA software updates for several devices of its devices including Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, and LG K20. The update on all these devices only upgrades the phones’ security patch level, meaning there are no major enhancements to the UI.

The update for Samsung Galaxy S7 bears the software version G930AUCS8CRJ2 and weighs in at a paltry 48MB. It brings up the security patch level up to October 1, 2018, from the erstwhile August 1, 2018. The update for Galaxy S7 Edge bears the software version G935AUCS8CRJ2 and weighs in at 48MB too. It also brings up the security patch level up to October 1, 2018, from the erstwhile August 1, 2018.

Meanwhile, Samsung has released the OneUI beta atop Android Pie for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices and many other phones are expected to follow suit. Unfortunately, none of the Galaxy S7 devices are eligible for either OneUI or the Pie update and have to stay content with Oreo.

The update for LG K20 bears the build number OPM1.171019.026 and software version M25520c which weighs 119MB. It brings up the security patch level up to October 1, 2018, from the erstwhile August 1, 2018.

Recently, LG G7 One became the first LG phone to receive the stable Android Pie update and a Pie beta was released for the LG G7 ThinQ in Korea. However, it is unlikely that the LG K20 will receive the update considering that AT&T only recently released the Oreo update for the phone in October.
