AT&T is rolling out a new OTA update for its LG G5, one that fixes the latest serious issue in the form of Blueborne. The update, weighing in at 216MB, also updates the security patch level on the device to September 2017.
The new update comes as software version H82020p, and is still based on Android 7.0, which is weird because you would expect Android 7.1.1 update by now. After all, we do think G5 will get Oreo update from LG.
Speaking of Oreo, the 8.0 OS should be hitting the likes of G6 and V30 first, and that too for unlocked variants, followed by carrier variants including AT&T.
Right now, LG is yet to make an official announcement on Oreo, as they have released their roadmap not spoken about which devices are eligible for the Android 8.0. Now that Oreo is almost 1.5 months old, we think the rollout of the update by other OEMs is near, especially from OnePlus and Nokia, as Oreo from both of these OEMs has already leaked out in one for or another.
