AT&T Galaxy Express Prime Android 7.1.1 Nougat update rolling out

Skipping the Android 7.0 update, AT&T has directly pushed Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime handset with model number J320A.

The new update comes after a wait of two and a half months when Galaxy Express Prime received its last update that arrived with July security patch. The current update with version number J320AUCU2AQI5, which is rolling out as we speak brings Android 7.1.1 to the last years Galaxy Express Prime.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat will bring features such as split mode, app shortcuts, revamped notifications, better battery life, and easier settings navigation. Sadly, Nougat will be the last major operating system update for Galaxy Express Prime as it is not expected to receive Android Oreo.

Besides Android 7.1.1, the update also brings video calling and Wi-Fi calling features to Galaxy Express Prime. Not only that, it also brings the much needed BlueBorne security patch to the device along with the August security patch. You should also expect bug fixes and performance improvements from the update.

Furthermore, since the update weighs 1GB, you should download it through Wi-Fi network to avoid extra data charges on mobile data. It is advisable to keep phone battery above 50% while installing the update.
