Asus ZenWatch 2 update rolling out with February security patch, build M6E69Z

The Asus ZenWatch 2 has started receiving a new firmware upgrade. The update installs the February security patch on the Android Wear smartwatch.

Arriving as build number M6E69Z, the new firmware upgrades the OS of the second generation Android Wear smartwatch to 1.5.0.3752790, which is still Android Wear 1.5 OS based.

The update should hit your ZenWatch 2 soon, if it hasn’t already. You can also check for the same by swiping down the watch face and going to Settings > About device > System Updates.

Those eagerly awaiting for the Android Wear 2.0 update to hit their Asus ZenWatch 2 might need to prolong their wait. As per a report, ASUS will roll out Android Wear 2.0 for the ZenWatch 2 and ZenWatch 3 only in Q2. This means the update won’t be hitting these Asus wearables before April. In fact, it could stretch till June.

Meanwhile, Fossil added two new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches to its Q line series this month named Q Venture and Q Explorist.
