Asus has made it official that it will be rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the first generation ZenFone lineup including ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 in May.
As per the firm’s forum post, the ZenFone 5 LTE A500KL will be the first device to receive the update and it is scheduled to roll out in early May. The ZenFone 4 A400CG, ZenFone 4 A450 CG, ZenFone 6 A600 CG and ZenFone 5 A500CG are slated to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in mid May.
For now, the Taiwanese firm has not revealed the change-log that the update will bring to the popular ZenFone lineup of smartphones. Besides the devices that were mentioned above, the low cost ZenFone C is also slated to get the update, but it will happen in June.
As of now, the firm has not revealed the update schedule for the Zenfone 5 A501CG, Zenfone 5 A502CG, and Zenfone 4 A400CXG. However, we can expect these devices to get the taste of Lollipop by the end of May or early June.
It has to be noted that Asus ZenFone lineup that was successful was launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform and they received the Android 4.4 KitKat. The Lollipop update will be the second major one that this lineup will receive.
