Asus Zenfone 2 receives new update but still no Android 5.1

Asus should have released the Zenfone 2 Android 5.1 update by now — after all it’s been so long since it was confirmed in the making — but the company still hasn’t to the irritation of many Zenfone 2 users worldwide. Though, users can take some heart from today’s update, that confirms that Asus is working hard behind the scenes to fix all bugs — although that’s another point that so called bugs are their own making.

The Zenfone 2 update’s version is V2.20.40.88 for Zenfone 2 HD variant, model no. ZE550ML, while it’s V2.20.40.90 for Full HD variant, model no. ZE551ML.

Today’s update for Zenfone 2 isn’t Android 5.1, but it’s pretty cool update as it fixes some crucial bugs with the current firmware, while also adding some nifty features to the device.

Now, the clean up app would work also when your device’s display is off, so that all the cleaning is done, and snappiness added, before you start working on your phone again. Moreover, under manual settings, you can further dim the brightness of your Zenfone 2 than before.

And there is a new UI for power saver feature, while fixes issued for yellow photos when LED is on, network stability, quick charging, and issue with display after answering the call.
