Apple trolls! Says $1 per iPhone is what Motorola patents are worth

While Google might have placed great faith in Motorola’s patents when it paid $12.4 billion to acquire it, Apple does not seem to share the same belief! And why would it, obviously? FOSS Patents report that Apple lawyers think of all Motorola patents combined worth just $1 or less per iPhone.

The case is due in court in Wisconsin next month, and if the court shares Apple’s feeling, the iPhone maker will be more than happy to start paying Motorola.

Google meanwhile must be pondering over the wisdom of acquiring Motorola, which according to Chief Executive Larry Page would supercharge the android. Motorola had already disappointed Google once before when it dropped its claim against Apple in the United States Court.

You think Google’s plan to use Motorola and its patents as a safeguard against Apple’s bull headed patent suits seems to, so far, have backfired? Well, if yes, we hope a Motorola Nexus will remove all such ill feelings., even though Google has pretty much clarified that the main reason they bought Motorola was the latter’s patents portfolio.
