Another issue with Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL revealed as SMS get deleted, but fix is in the works

Pixel 3 XL Lite rumored

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones were the cynosures of all eyes during the launch event. With enticing features like call screen, top shot, flip to shhh, group selfie cam and more, Google’s flagship phones of 2018 managed to capture the attention of smartphone enthusiasts worldwide. Google played its cards right and is even trying to entice customers via a $200 discount on Best Buy.

However, from what we’re seeing, it’s not going to be all rainbows and butterflies for Google. Owners of the latest flagship phones are stumbling upon one bug upon another and are voicing their dissatisfaction on social media apart from reporting it to Google of course, who are working tirelessly to send out updates fixing these bugs and issues.

After the overheating and poor audio quality issues, it seems a bug that automatically deletes messages from the phone’s Messaging app has taken over the pecking order, notably after the November security patch update. Google, meanwhile, has acknowledged the issue and is said to be working on quickly fixing it.

Some users are recommending going back to the old version of the Messages app to retain back their data. While this has indeed helped, it is by no means a permanent solution. However, for the time being, you can apply the same trick by tapping on the Settings icon, followed by Apps & Notifications and then Messages. On the App info page, tap on the menu button on the top-right to choose Uninstall updates.

Voila! You should now be able to see your deleted messages. Let us know in the comments below if you don’t or if you know of an alternative method to get back your deleted messages. Also, let us know if you stumbled upon a different bug on your Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3XL phone other than the ones mentioned in this post.
