Another Android Pie update in OxygenOS 9.0.4 released for OnePlus 3 and 3T

Since bursting onto the scene in 2014 with OnePlus One, the Chinese OEM has done exceptionally well to keep its range of devices as updated as possible. The company is into its 7th flagship with OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro but still hasn’t abandoned the 2016-make OnePlus 3 and 3T.

In April 2019, OnePlus rolled out Android Pie for the OnePlus 3 and Oneplus 3T, making them the only non-Google devices to officially get three major Android OS updates.

Sadly, the Pie update (OxygenOS 9.0.2) wasn’t as smooth as the company would’ve liked, with many users reporting a plethora of issues. The next update, Oxygen OS 9.0.3 took care of some issues, but not all of them were rectified.

On June 30, OnePlus started the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 9.0.4 for the two devices, updating the security patch and bringing general bug fixes and improvements.

OxygenOS 9.0.4 changelog:

  • System
    • Updated Android security patch to 2019.6
    • General bug fixes and improvements

Some issues remain at large, but OnePlus’ commitment towards their older customers is nothing short of commendable.
