Android 9 Pie for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 to release soon

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 Pie update cleared

In late January 2019, Samsung published its Android 9 Pie update roadmap in which the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 got a release date of October 2019. Going by the latest developments, it appears the Korean company is way ahead of time.

Multiple variants of the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 have been cleared by the Wi-Fi Alliance to receive Android 9 Pie. What makes this even more interesting is the number of carrier variants certified by the WFA, suggesting that the software is already been trialed.

Usually, carrier variants don’t feature in the early stages of software update plans, but it seems this is exactly what’s happening with the Tab A 10.5’s update to One UI.

History tells us that once a device receives WFA clearance for a certain software update, the wait for the OTA to arrive could take anywhere between two to eight weeks. Granted, we are looking at a possible Q2 2019 release date for the Tab A 10.5 Pie update.

The variants that have been cleared with Android Pie on board have model numbers SM-T590, SM-T590X, SM-T595, SM-T595X, SM-T595C, SM-T595N, SM-T597, SM-T597W, SM-T597P, and SM-T597V; most of which are sold in North America.

Samsung hasn’t said anything about the imminent arrival of Pie on the Tab A 10.5, not that we expect the company to announce it anyways.
