Nearly two months ago, Canada’s Fido announced that an update to Android 9 Pie for users of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro would be ready between mid-December 2018 and mid-January 2019.
The carrier revealed that Huawei P20 will get the Pie update anywhere between December 17th and January 9th while the P20 Pro will get the same treat somewhere between December 19th and January 14th. Apparently, these same dates are true for users of the two devices on Rogers, another major carrier in the North American country.

That said, the Huawei P20 should be receiving an update to Android Pie as we speak, with the update expected on the P20 Pro in the coming days. Of course, it is never easy to stick to promised software release dates, so don’t be surprised if the two carriers miss out on these dates.
You can also try checking for the availability of the update via your device’s Settings app, but there is no guarantee the new OS is ready for your device. Even so, the wait shouldn’t be too long.
