Android Oreo update for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 could release soon

Galaxy Tab 4 Oreo update

Remember the Galaxy Tab 4 from 2014? Well, it seems Samsung has a surprise lining up as the device has just been spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) with Android 8.0 Oreo on board. Strange it is, but if it has been cleared by the WFA, there’s probably something to get excited about here.

When devices go through the WFA with software updates, it takes several weeks before they are officially updated to the respective software over the air. While we can’t give you an exact release date, we can only guess that the Galaxy Tab 4, if indeed this is happening, will get Oreo somewhere in May or even June 2018.

We can’t believe that a 2014 Samsung device that launched with Android KitKat is being lined up for an update to Android 8.0 Oreo. It just doesn’t seem right, but hey, we don’t make the rules, which is why we’ll be following the story closely to see where it’s headed.

We’ll keep you up to date, too.
