Android Oreo OTA is rolling out for the LG V30 unlocked sets as US99818f build

LG started pushing out the Android Oreo update for the V30 and V30+ in South Korea last December after beta testing the software update for nearly a month. It now seems the beta update is hitting the U.S. shores as some unlocked versions of LG V30 have started receiving the update as build US99818f.

At least one LG V30 user posted a screenshot of the alleged update on the XDA, suggesting that the Oreo beta update is now landing on the U.S. versions of the smartphone via OTA (over the air) update. It includes the Android security patch level for January 1, 2018.

The Android Oreo beta software started hitting LG V30 in South Korea in later November 2017 as an OTA update as well. Around the same time, the Korean OEM confirmed the Oreo update was set to launch on the units in the country by the following month. It’s nice of LG to make good on its promise, and even more so for rolling out the update to the U.S. handset now.

Meanwhile, the LG G6 is also expected to receive Android Oreo this month, while the LG V20 is likely not getting the update until the first quarter of this year. Additionally, the older LG devices including the LG G5, the LG Q lineup, and the LG K family would hopefully be upgraded to the latest Android version in the second quarter of 2018.
