Android Nougat update for Moto X Pure released

Finally, after six months, Nougat update for Moto X pure is out. To recap, in ending March, we reported that Motorola has started soak test for select few users to test Nougat beta build.

Now, the day is finally here when all Moto X Pure users can taste Nougat on their handsets. The Nougat OTA update is currently rolling out and might take some time to reach your device. If you are the impatient one, check for the update manually by going into Settings – About – Software update.

The Nougat 7.0 update for Moto X Pure arrives as version number 25.11.22.en.US. It brings along Nougat goodies such as split mode, efficient notification controls, improved Settings, better battery life among other things. The Nougat update will also install Google Duo, Google’s video calling app on your device.

We would advise you to download the update through Wi-Fi connection so that there are no additional data charges on your limited data plan. Also, keep your handset charged as high as 50% update while installing the update.

Sadly, this will be the last major operating system update for 2-year-old Moto X Pure device, as Motorola has already listed the devices that will receive Android Oreo, and Moto X pure isn’t included in the list.
