Android 10 coming to OnePlus 6/6T in October; 5/5T in Q2 2020

In a very short span, OnePlus has emerged as one of the leading smartphone manufacturers in the business. Making affordable smartphones with bleeding-edge hardware is only a part of the story, as it is almost impossible to quantify OnePlus’ greatness without talking about the company’s unmatched software support.

Based on Android, OnePlus’ OxygenOS delivers an almost pure Android experience, experience as close to the stock OS as possible. It allows the company to push out updates faster than other manufacturers while earning them bonus points for sticking to basics and not overhauling Google’s implementation.

This year, it took them only a couple of weeks to bring Google’s Android 10 to the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro in the form of OxygenOS 10.0. And if AllAboutOnePlus’ report is to be believed, the update will soon come to the company’s older devices.

The Chinese OEM is the only other third-party company that allows its devices to receive more than two major Android OS updates. And they are set to bolster that reputation with this year’s release.

As per claims, OnePlus will release the much-anticipated Android 10 update for OnePlus 6 and 6T in late October 2019, while 2017 devices, OnePlus 5 and 5T, are scheduled to get it between April and June 2020.

It would be OnePlus 5/5T’s third big Android OS update since being launched in 2017.
