Zagat Android App updated and completely overhauled by Google

Restaurant ratings and reviews guide Zagat has a new app available in the Google Play Store. Since having been acquired by Google last year, the new Zagat app has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. Zagat existed as a paid app, but has now been re-released by Google as a completely free app.

Users can search for nearby restaurants based on different criteria like cuisine, ratings or other features. In some cases, users can even make reservations at participating restaurants. The selection is limited to U.S. cities, with Zagat claiming to have 30,000 establishments already in the database.

Do keep in mind though that the Zagat app uses Google+ for sign-in purposes, which you may want to do to submit your own restaurant reviews and ratings. The Zagat app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play store
