Z4Root Android App: For Easy and No-Fuss One Click Root

z4root android app

One App. One Button. One Click. Your device is rooted. It’s darn simple rooting an Android Phone using the Z4Root Android App, a very unique one.

The app’s better than all other methods/procedures for rooting your droid but be sure to check out whether it supports your handset or not. Even if it doesn’t support, it won’t cause any harm as the developer of the app — RyanZa, a well known XDA member — states that it will simply boot the device up in original un-rooted condition.

Quick Tip: Before using this app, restart your phone first. It won’t cause any harm if you forget to restart phone before using this app, but it might not work i.e. not root your phone. The z4root android app takes doesn’t take too long to root your phone, it should be around 10 seconds to couple of minutes — this is as far as my trials of the app suggests, so it’s not a dead line.

Also, if the z4root doesn’t root your device in the first instant, remove the battery and then boot your phone. It should be able to root your phone within minutes, if not 15-20 seconds.

Download Z4Root:

The app is available on the android market as of now, so scan the QR Code below or hit the download link underneath it.

Or, you can side load it — download the z4root apk on PC, move it to phone’s SD Card and install it from there. Plus, the link to official XDA Thread at the bottom also provides you the download link.

Worried about safety? Here is what RyanZA got to say:

Should be 100% safe – nothing on disk is changed besides the root binaries, so if something goes wrong, simply rebooting the device should fix up any and all issues. Let me know if you find any bugs!

The latest version 1.1.0 of the app supports following devices (the list will be updated as when we find it working on other devices):

  • Samsung Galaxy S (All variants)
  • Backflip
  • Sony X10
  • Xperia Mini
  • Droid 2
  • Galaxy Tab
  • Galaxy I5700
  • Galaxy 3 I5800
  • Droid X
  • Samsung Acclaim
  • Cricket Huawei Ascend
  • Motorola Cliq
  • Huawei 8120
  • Hero
  • Optimus T
  • Droid 1 (z4root 1.2.1)

The app doesn’t work on NAND locked devices. Or simply, following handsets aren’t supported:

  • Motorola Milestone
  • HTC EVO
  • HTC Desire
  • Nexus One
  • HTC Incredible

To get more info, user opinion and reviews, updates, etc stay in touch with the official XDA Thread.

Let us know if you find any other devices that are supported or not supported – that requires us to update our list.

If you like the app and would like to see more of such quality app/methods from the developers, make a good gesture by buying a beer to this app’s developer RyanZA for his incredible work.

  9. will this root a thunderbolt

    1. You can try it, it won’t do any harm. Do try the latest version, though, which you can get from here — http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953 Version 1.3 is the last version. You see, it’s pretty old tool now. Might work though, although chances are slim. Make sure you’ve ‘Unknown Sources’ enabled as also ‘USB Debugging’ under settings – applications.

  13. will it work with alcatel 918n?

    1. It might, but not sure. Won’t hurt your phone anyway, so you can definitely try. And, I think the super one click root will be able to root your device. Search for it on Google. It’s easy and generally works on nearly every android device.
