YNG1TAS1k0: Download YU Yureka Lollipop big fixer update [w/ Guide]

An update is out for YU Yureka that promises to fix the glaring issues on Lollipop update like, overheating, proximity sensor (screen off when in-call even at distance), jerks and lags, etc. We really hope it fixes out all things. The Yureka buyers are literally too much upset with the Lollipop update that took away more than it brought.

This is the OTA update we’ve got here, that’s flashable directly in recovery. We’ve got the full guide below that covers booting into recovery mode and then flashing the update, so just follow the guide below in order.f all. Double click the .exe file of drivers to begin installation. (Not required if you have already done this.)

Downloads
  • YNG1TAS1k0 OTA update (122 MB) | Filename: cm-tomato-56deeca328-to-00b2e333e8-signed.zip
(Note: Try the update your Yureka using the OTA file provided above first, but if it fails you, then use the FULL update provided below. You can use any of the two guides below for both OTA and FULL update. Prefer the first guide, btw, that uses recovery method, as that’s easier.)
  • YNG1TAS1K0 FULL Update (643.76 MB) | Filename: cm-12.0-YNG1TAS1K0-tomato-signed.zip
Supported devices
  • YU Yureka
  • Don’t try on any other device whatsoever

First method: Recovery

  1. Make sure you have stock recovery installed, and not any custom recovery.
  2. Download the OTA update from above.
  3. Transfer it to your phone. Remember the location.
  4. Boot your Yureka into recovery mode:
    1. Enable developer options first. Go into Setting > About phone. Tap build no 7 times.
    2. Go back to settings and then choose Developer options.
    3. Enable Advanced reboot.
    4. Now, hold power button till a pop-up shows up.
    5. Tap on Reboot. Select Recovery. You’ll boot into recovery mode.
  5. Tap on Apply update > Choose from Internal Storage > 0/ > select the zip file you transferred in step 2 above.
  6. The update will start installing, just hang on. When it’s done, you will be back in recovery’s homescreen. Tap on ‘Reboot system now’. Device will restart and you’ll have the new update running on your Yureka.

Reminder: If update fails for you using OTA file, try the full update, provided in downloads section above.

Alternative method: ADB Sideload

  1. Make sure you have stock recovery installed, and not any custom recovery.
  2. Download the OTA update from above. Rename the update.zip file to simple name, like, yu-update2.zip
  3. Get ADB Drivers installed and working.
  5. Tap on Apply update > Apply from ADB
  6. Go to the folder where you have the yu-update2.zip, then open a command prompt window there. For this, hold the shift button and right click on white space inside the folder. A pop-up will show up, choose ‘Open command window here’ option.
  7. Type this in command window and then hit enter key:
    adb devices
  8. You should get a serial no. with device written after it. If you get anything else on command window, it means adb is not working on your PC. Re-install drivers again.
  9. Then, type this and hit enter key:
    adb sideload yu-update2.zip

That’s it.

  1. Hi, this update was available for me OTA. I downloaded it on wifi and then when I clicked on install update, it took me to the recovery mode. There I searched the file (under cache somewhere) and clicked it. It did start installing but then cam back with an error like failed install. Abort. How to install it?

    1. Try to do it manually. Download it, transfer it, boot to recovery and then install it yourself. Should be a success.

    2. I will give it a try now. Lets see 🙂

    3. Manual failed for me…its like expecting some version bt found another

  2. I tried doing it manually by downloading the update and then starting the phone in recovery mode. But it is still the same. Here is what I get:

    It says Install failed.

    Finding update package…

    Opening update package…

    Verifying update package…

    Installating update…

    Verifying current system…

/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system/has been remounted R/W reflash device to renable OTS updates

    E: Failed to install /sideload/package.zip

E: Please take note of all the above lines for reports.

    Installation aborted.

    1. hey, what’s the current build no. of your device?
      is it YNG1TAS0W0, or XNXXXXX?

Check in Settings > about phone.

    2. Yes, it says: 12.0-YNG1TAS0W0

    3. That’s really strange then. You’re good for update but it still won’t. I’ll let you know here when I come across a fix.

      Let me know.

    6. Hi Kapil, I also got same error as Sahil. I found that file under cache. How shall I do it now as same error is coming. I’m not sure of adb devices

    7. Post updated with full firmware. Try that now, using either of the two methods. Good luck!
