Well, on to the new update. The update has the firmware version XXDLI3, and is the newest update leaked for the Galaxy S3 as of 7-9-2012. The guide below will walk you through the steps required to update your Galaxy S3 to the XXDLI3 firmware and check out the latest Android 4.1.1 firmware.

  1. Hi, you download link referes to a file 283.7MB file.
What’s the difference with the 789.1MB file available on samfirmware.com ?

    1. The big file you got there contains Odin flash-able even bigger .tar.md5 file, which you get after extracting the downloaded file, and selecting in PDA tab of Odin 3.04.

Now, the smaller file is first of all, small, because it’s an OTA (over-the-air) update file, which would update a definite firmware to XXDLI3. The base firmware being XXBLG8, which is why you need it first — and this is not the case with large XXDLI3 firmware file, because it’s a full firmware in itself.

That said, the end result under both is exactly same 😀
