These days, the smartphone vendors are coming up with online brands making a specific range of their offerings exclusive to online portals. Following Micromax’s Yu brand, Xolo is also planning to announce Black an online only smartphone brand in June.
Notably, Xolo is a sub-brand of Lava Mobiles that is based in India and this sub-brand is in plans to launch an online only smartphone brand. The first smartphone of this Black brand will be launched in mid-June and it will be a mid-range model with support to 4G LTE connectivity.
The upcoming smartphone in the Black brand is likely to feature dual rear snappers for a good imaging performance and run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Xolo’s Hive UI 1.5. The Black smartphones will be exclusive to one specific e-commerce portal, but there will be no flash sale model.
Black has been tied up with an unidentified telecom service provider for bundled data offers. Xolo executives have confirmed that the Black brand will follow a launch pattern of one smartphone per quarter and each of these smartphones will be offered for three quarters.
