It seems Xolo is set to release a new handset, 8X-1020, for a price of INR 9,700 in India really soon. The device is already in the know of retail store owners in India. Xolo 8x-1020 is an upgrade to Xolo Q1020, which uses a quad-core chip, and is currently selling at flipkart for INR 9954.
Xolo Q series features a Quad-core processor while 8x features new Octa-core processor. Xolo already has 8X-1000 in its lineup with 2GB RAM, costing INR 11,500 approx. Those of you who want 2GB RAM, which is the minimum we would recommend too, should get Xolo 8X-1000, even though it makes your pocket lighter by further INR 2,000.
Release date of Xolo 8x-1020 is not known yet, but expect it launch in a week, or two at the max.
Rumors have it that Xolo 8x-1020 would be powered by an Octa-core processor (MTK 6592 is our guess, because that’s what’s in use in 8X series), will have 1GB RAM and 8GB storage and nicey-dicey 250mAh battery to get through the day.
Other than that, Xolo 8x-1020 will have an 8MP camera in the back with Sony Exmor R sensor, and in front, will have a 5MP cam. The display will be a 5.0 inch IPS LCD one, with HD resolution. Lastly, 8x-1020 will be running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, with no word on Lollipop update yet.
If you are in the market for a device with budget of INR 9,000-10,000, we recommend you go for 2GB RAM and to help you out, we’ve compared some of the best devices that the market can offer you right now. Xolo 8x-1000 vs Xolo Q1000 Comparison
Basic differences between Xolo 8x-1000 and Xolo Q1000 are:
- Octa-core processor in 8x-1000 while Quad-core in the other
- 8MP camera in 8x-1000 in place of 13MP camera
Price difference is almost none, so maybe that’s the reason Xolo sacrificed camera for the additional cost in Quad-core processor over Quad-core. Like it? Thoughts?
