Xiaomi announces 2nd power manufacturing plant in India under #MakeInIndia program

Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing Chinese OEMs in terms of popularity in India. Its Redmi Note 4 became the fastest device to sell over 1 million units in 45 days in the country. Riding high on the accolade, Xioami has taken another step to consolidate its presence in India by opening its second manufacturing plant here.

Opened under the #MakeInIndia initiative, Xiaomi’s new manufacturing plant has been established in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The announcement was made by Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director of Xiaomi India via his Twitter handle.

Xiaomi is making much headway into India. As if a second manufacturing plant was not enough proof of it, another tweet from Manu Kumar Jain specifies that over 95 percent of Xiaomi phones sold in India are now Made in India. Further, their combined production capacity in the country is one phone per second during the operational hours.

Xiaomi is indeed the best brand to look for when one wants to purchase a smartphone which is way much worth than its price. Redmi Note 4 is an exemplary evidence of this. The Marshmallow based phone with 5.5 inch full HD display and 2.5D curved glass comes at a starting price of Rs 9,999. It packs in a massive 4100mAh battery and a 13MP/5MP camera combo.
