Galaxy Nexus for Sprint Shows up in Leaked Document (as Nexus Prime). May Arrive in 2012!

Google’s next phone, the Galaxy Nexus, is sure to arrive at Verizon Wireless and later at both T-Mobile and AT&T. We’re surprised that there was no talk as regards Galaxy Nexus for Sprint. After all, Sprint and Google are no less than friends, with carrier allowing the search engine giant to test its new services like Google Wallet and all on its network. But, the latest word on street is that Sprint will get its own Galaxy Nexus too, if the leaked internal order showing the Nexus Prime (the codename for Galaxy Nexus) is anything to go by.

The pic above shows the order from Sprint Nextel System Corp, for the Nexus Prime handsets — which is your first Android 4.0 device, Galaxy Nexus, btw. And even though this is doesn’t qualify as anything more than a rumor, we’re pretty sure Sprint will get its Galaxy Nexus phone, even though Galaxy Nexus lacks the WiMAX (4G) bands Sprint’s network uses. Yeah, that’s sad, because Galaxy Nexus would support only HSPA+ and LTE 4G tech.

But we know that Sprint is working on its LTE network, which maybe ready in early 2012 and that, Verizon has souped up an exclusive deal for Galaxy Nexus for quite sometime. So, 2012 release for Galaxy Nexus on Sprint is all we can chalk out right now. Stay tuned for more!
