The Samsung Galaxy S2 was last years flagship device for Samsung, and was a best-seller in its international SIM-free avatar, as well as its carrier-branded one. Sure, consumer interest may have started waning once newer handsets like its successor – the Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X came along earlier this year, but one cannot deny the fact this was unarguably the best smartphone of 2011 – period.
The Galaxy S2 is all set for a second coming with pre-paid operator Virgin Mobile, who plans to start selling the Galaxy S2 4G for $369.99, off-contract, come November 15. Virgin Mobile has been reclaiming older devices since Sprint has started its migration  to LTE, and left its WiMax network for pre-paid operators.
The Galaxy S2 from Virgin Mobile is not expected to undergo any hardware or software changes, and should look exactly the same as the Sprint Epic 4G Touch, except perhaps for a Virgin Mobile logo on the back. For those who missed this awesome device last year, Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a brilliant 4.5″ Super AMOLED+ Display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass, A 1.2 GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage with an expandable microSD slot, an 8MP camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Plus it is due for a Jelly Bean update any time now.
As the saying goes, form is temporary, but class is permanent. And that cannot be more true in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S2, which continues to hold user as well as operator attention after more than a year of its release.
