They say economies are melting. Again! Well, I think some guys, who don’t consider themselves a technoholic at all, would rather want a pretty cheap option to have the smartphone experience while savings bucks for the more important cause. Well, at least that’s what LG and Verizon have thinking for quite a time and looks like they want a solution in LG Enlighten.

So, if you are thinking about getting a new phone/upgrade option and would don’t your wallet to lose it weight too much, then Verizon Wireless, and LG,  just did you a huge favor by launching the LG Enlighten.

What so special about this phone? For starters it’s the cheapest Android 2.3 device available in market and a new two year contract from Verizon will get you this device for just $79.

The Enlighten has the basic specs well covered for the price tag it has got, you’re looking at a 800MHz processor, 3.2-inch touch display with resolution of 480×320, a slider QWERTY keypad and a 3.2-megapix camera; but it still lacks a front facing camera — which was so much expected anyway — and it does have a 2GB microSD card inside the box.

The other features include Adobe Flash 10, 3G (with mobile hotspot tethering capabilities), Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. LG Enlighten from Verizon will be available for $79.99 after a $50 mail in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. The Enlighten is also available without a contract for $130.
