After AT&T and T-Mobile, Verizon has started releasing a new firmware update to Galaxy S8 and S8+ which brings fix for the red tint display issue as well as other improvements. The update is being rolled out over the air.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ have been error free until a report started doing the rounds about the display showing a red tint. Samsung followed this by releasing fixes through software updates to S8 and S8+, first in Korea. The US carriers soon followed suit.
Verizon is the latest one to roll out an update which arrives as build number G950USQU1AQDF to Galaxy S8 and as build number G955USQU1AQDF to Galaxy S8+. The first notable change brought about by the update is improvements to the screen settings which enables you fine tune the Infinity Screen on your Galaxy device as per your choice. Once the update has been installed, you can go to Settings > Display > Screen Mode to treat the red tint on your display.

Another equally important change introduced by the new firmware is the addition of shopping feature for Bixby Vision. Samsung has partnered with five standalone apps for Bixby Vision to improve the user experience: Amazon for shopping, Pinterest for similar images, Foursquare for identifying places and landmarks, Google Translate for translating text and Vivino for Wine search. This Verizon update for Bixby Vision works for the Amazon shopping app.
Other changes brought about by the update include fix for the pop-up error of ‘DQA keeps stopping’ and other essential bug fixes.
If you are the proud owner of a Verizon Galaxy S8 or S8+ device, you can either wait for the OTA update to hit your phone or simply head to Settings > About device > System updates to check for it manually.
