Verizon releases security update for Galaxy Note 4 [N910VVRU2CPJ2]

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has received an update to build N910VVRU2CPJ2 from Verizon today. This update doesn’t bring anything new to the table and only includes minor bug fixes and performance improvements over the previous build.

The update also brings the November Android security patch. Two weeks ago, Sprint too had released the November patch for the Note 4. It’s good to see Samsung catering to the two year old Note 4 even today.

From what we can gather, the Galaxy Note 4 has only been receiving security patches and the prospect of an update to Nougat isn’t anywhere plausible in the coming future. The only other way to get Nougat running on the Note 4 is through unstable alpha builds of CM14. But be warned as that would involve the risk of subjecting the device to a lot of bugs.

The Galaxy Note 5 too had received an update today enabling users to sync their Gallery to Samsung Cloud. In other news release dates for stable OTA builds have been revealed for the LG G5 and the Sony X Performance.

  1. I updated and now my phone’s “systems update” screen says “software not updated to N910VVRU2CPJ2 FAILED DEC 6 ERROR CODE 410.”

However, the about screen shows the build N910VVRU2CPJ2 .

I’ll tell ya, Samsung just doesn’t have their act together anymore. Lost faith in their ability to deliver an update, let alone a brand new note.
