Upcoming T-Mobile Android Phones and Tablets

Taking a leaf out of Google’s book, T-Mobile also announced its holiday lineup of smartphones and tablets through a press release yesterday, despite having to cancel their product launch event, courtesy Hurricane Sandy. Existing and soon-to-be T-Mobile customers should be pleased, as they will have a wide variety of awesome smartphones and tablets to choose from, including the latest and the greatest from Google’s Nexus stable. So without much ado, let’s move right on to check out the offerings T-Mobile is putting out in the Android smartphones and tablets category.

LG Nexus 4

Unarguably the most talked about, speculated, leaked and eagerly awaited handset of the year, the Google LG Nexus 4 will be available through its Premier Launch Partner in the US – T-Mobile. The LG Nexus 4 is the latest Nexus handset from Google, and comes with state-of-the-art hardware from LG coupled with Android 4.2, the latest flavor of Jelly Bean. The Nexus 4 packs a stunning 4.7″ IPS HD display, a blazing fast 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU coupled with 2GB RAM, an 8 MP Rear Camera, 1.3 MP front camera, a 2100 mAh battery, and  is probably one of the most desirable smartphones on the planet right now.

The Nexus 4 would be available from Google Play starting November 13th, for $199 on contract, and will drop at T-Mobile retail stores  as well as online, starting November 14th. Value Plan customers can get one for $199 outright payment and 20 equal payments of $20 per month. So mark your calendars, folks, for a visit to your nearest T-Mobile store on November 14th, or order it directly from Google Play a day earlier.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Again, another widely leaked, speculated and anxiously awaited device, and the successor to the super-popular Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has already been launched by T-Mobile starting October 25th. As a matter of fact, T-Mobile was the first US carrier to release the Galaxy Note, and has already got a headstart over other major operators who are yet to make it available. The second Samsung phablet in the Note series, The LTE enabled Galaxy Note 2 packs in 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display, a massive 3100 mAh battery and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly bean on board. The Galaxy Note 2 from T-Mobile also comes preloaded with EA’s Need For Speed™ Most Wanted game optimized to interact with the MOGA mobile gaming system

Available in two colours, Marble White and Titanium Gray, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from T-Mobile can be had for $370 with a 2 year contract, and value plan customers can pick up one for $650. The Galaxy Note 2 is already available for purchase from T-Mobile, both online as well as in-store.

LG Optimus L9

The LG Optimus L9 is a mid-range offering from T-Mobile, which combines top of the line specs with a pretty sweet price point. Packing a 4.5″ qHD (540 x 960 pixels) display, a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with  1 GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage plus expandable memory via microSD, a 5 MP Rear Camera capable of shooting 1080p videos, a 1 MP front-facing camera for video calls, 4G LTE capability, and a massive 2100 mAh battery, the LG Optimus L9 comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

You should be able to score one for $79.99 on a standard 2 year service contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate, starting tomorrow, October 31st.  You can also get it on their Equipment Installment Plan for $50 upfront, and 20 equal payments of $15/month thereafter. The Optimus L9 is an impressive mid-range device which provides very good value for that price. We can see this becoming another hot seller for T-Mobile in the months to come.

Moving on to the tablets category, T-Mobile would be offering two exciting new tablets in its fall 2012 lineup. Lets have a look at both slates.

Google Asus Nexus 7 32GB 3G

Google announced the much awaited and talked about 32Gb version of the immensely successful Nexus 7 tablet, this time with a 3G radio enabling data access on the move. And the Nexus 7 3G with T-Mobile service, would be available for purchase from the Google Play Store as early as November 5th.

The new 3G enabled Nexus 7 32GB shares the same high-end specs of its lower storage capacity siblings, packing a Quad-Core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 7-inch backlit IPS display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, 32Gb of internal storage, a massive 4325 mAh battery, and comes with Android 4.1 jelly Bean on board. There is no doubt whatsoever that it will receive the official update to Android 4.2 as well soon enough .

Pricing has not been revealed yet for the T-Mobile Nexus 7 3G, but we expect it to be out soon enough, probably by this weekend.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

T-Mobile has confirmed the upcoming availability of the 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, starting November 14th, at T-Mobile retail stores as well as online. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is positioned as high-powered, premium entertainment device. Running Android 4.0 and powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor with access to T-Mobile’s fast 4G (HSPA+ 42) network, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the ideal device for customers who want to stay connected and entertained wherever and whenever.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is priced at $349 after a $50 mail-in rebate on contract, and $499 off contract.

So that’s it folks, all the new goodies that T-Mobile has lined up for you to choose from. Tough choice for some, and perhaps not so tough for those who probably saw all of these coming and had made up their minds in advance.
