Unlocked Galaxy Note 2 price set at $729 in Canada

With the Canadian release for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 drawing nearer, speculation about pricing across different carriers is also heating up. It was reported earlier that the Roger’s Galaxy Note 2 was supposedly priced at a full $100 higher than its Bell and Telus counterparts at $249.99, based on Best Buy Canada‘s listing of the devices.

Well, it seems Best Buy has revised a pricing a bit, bumping up the originally listed $149.99 price for the Bell and Telus Galaxy Note 2, to $199.99 as shown in the screenshot above, which seems to make a little more sense now, although the Rogers pricing still seems a bit on  the steeper side.

The second, and more important piece of information is that the outright pricing for the Galaxy Note 2, without any contractual obligation, has been set at $729, with the big three –  Rogers, Bell and Telus.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 features a 5.5 inch HD Super Amoled Display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2 GB RAM and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is expected to hit Canadian stores on October 30th via major Canadian carriers – TELUS, Bell, Rogers, Mobilicity, WIND, Mobilicity, Videotron and SaskTel.

With the release date still a couple of weeks away, there might be more changes in the reported pricing, till it finally normalizes before D-day. If you’re planning to get one on a contract, which carrier would you choose? Or would you rather go for an outright purchase?
