How to Install TWRP and Root Xperia Z3 Dual D6633

The Xperia Z3 Dual was neglected for long before finally getting an unofficial build of TWRP recovery 3.0.2-0 earlier today. The recovery is developed and maintained by Muhammad Ashraf at the moment, but (we guess) it won’t be long before it gets merged to the official TWRP repository.

Also, with TWRP recovery now available for the Xperia Z3 Dual, rooting the device is as simple as it can get. All you gotta do in order to root Z3 Dual is first install TWRP recovery on the device and then flash SuperSU zip from TWRP. That it.

To install TWRP on your Z3 Dual though, you’ll need to unlock bootloader on the device first. We’ll guide you through the entire process in the step-by-step guide below:

Note: Make sure you backup all your important files, photos, videos, music, etc. to your PC or somewhere else safe. The instructions below might require a complete wipe of your device’ data.
