APPS
Google Reader
Category: News and Magazines
The official application from Google, it was updated only a day or two before to bring the widget support within the app. Google Reader works like a charm and with widgets you’ve got one more reason to shift to it.
Two types of Widgets are available now: “Reader News Ticker” and “Reader Unread Count”. While the former sizes up into 4×1 area widget, the latter takes just 1×1 space of your phone’s screen. To apply the widget, simply hold an empty area on the homescreen and select ‘Widgets’. Scroll down to any of the above mentioned widgets and tap on it to select and place it on homescreen.
Circle Battery Widget

We’re too fond of aesthetics and whatever looks cool and capable enough of making a distinction on the homescreen, always finds our favor in bringing it to you.
On the same lines, the Circle battery widget is a cool application that, when installed, will let you select a widget — in sizes of 1×1, 2×1, 1×2 and 2×2 (for tablets, mainly) — which will display the remaining juice of your battery in the percentage form. So, if you’re looking for a minimal themed widget, here it is.

FasterFix

Ever felt troubled by the blinking GPS icon taking too much time to get fix — that is, stop blinking and go stable — on your phone. Well, if you’ve a rooted android device with busybox installed, FasterFix will reduce the fix time greatly so that every time you use GPS, it works fast, like it should. If you’ve a new HTC made device, your phone needs to be nand-unlocked, to get the FasterFix working.
To set it up, just open the app and select your area from the list or even add your own to it. The app uses an NTP server near you to get more accurate time estimation.
Night Vision Cam

Okay, this one is silly. If there’s a kid near you, this app might entertain him/her a lot, as switching between the various modes of night vision camera — which, be default is Green but you can select either of Red and Blue color too — can be a lot of fun watching.
There are options to control brightness, gain, zoom and shuttertime using a sliding bar at the top, but don’t expect to shoot anything awesome from this, unless, there resides one great innovative photographer inside of you.
Funny Notepad

You may be serious when you’re dealing with a notepad, checking out what work remains and crossing what’s been already done but with Funny Notepad, things aren’t really that monotonous. Its different UI feels just right to work with and it got necessary capabilities too, to make it your daily task application.
You can jump from one page to another by simply flipping it while there’s also an option to go directly to a specific date. A single tap on the note will cross it out — helpful when the work is finished. It’s the Interface of the Funny Notepad which makes us like it, rest all is just okay and fine.

The weekend isn’t far and if you’ve got nothing else to do, how about finishing a 17 level short puzzle game where you get to link all the pearls, and then, get back to starting point of the level to complete it. So, whether it’s Silly or Amazing — entirely depends on you?
Each Pearl has its own arrows and the first pearl is always in Green. The White pearls you see there are rotatable, just swipe your finger to rotate it. We played a couple of levels and found it excellent enough for the weekend – do let us know what you think of it.
Stupid Zombies

Wanna play Hero, again? Well, you’re humanity’s last hope again as the Zombies make their 300 level return on your phone’s screen and you’re the one with One shotgun and (you guessed it!) limited ammo to sort the issues out, that is to say, kill them all.
You got bullets, grenades and other stuff which you need to use very wisely to be able to clear out the hordes of zombies. Before you hit the download link below, make sure your phone’s OS is android 2.1 or higher, alright.
LIVE WALLPAPERS
Those of you who still wonder how to use live wallpapers and such android apps, here’s how. Install the Live Wallpaper app first and then go to homescreen, press Menu, select, wallpapers, now choose “Live Wallpapers”. You’ll get a list of all live wallpapers available on your phone, choose the one you like. Great!
Jumpgate Free Live Wallpaper
The Free version lets you interact a bit with the live wallpaper with double tap, to say hello or do a barrel and does makes a good wallpaper to hang out with for a day or two.
But there’s a paid version too, with lots of customization — flight0 speeds, asteroid density, background color, animation smoothening, camera speed, etc and a turbo Boost for extra-ordinary speed. If you like the free version a lot, try the $0.99 costing paid version too.

The lovely blue sky on your android phone’s screen! Idea is amazing and the live wallpaper itself is impressive.
