Telus expects Jelly Bean Update for its Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note in late December

As you are already aware, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, is all set to make a Gangnam-style entrance into Canada next week. But what about the other Galaxy devices in Canada – Samsung Galaxy S3, the original Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S2? All three are still officially on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and anxiously expecting the update to Android 4.1.

Samsung had stated earlier that Canadians could expect to see the Jelly Bean update to various Galaxy Devices before the holidays. Samsung seems to be living up to its promise. As per Telus Canada’s Device OS Upgrade schedule, the Android 4.1 upgrade is expected to be outed between late November to December for the Galaxy S3, Note and S2.

While expected dates are always subject to change, it is encouraging to see that Samsung is bringing all of their major devices up to speed with the most current version of the OS. With Telus already set, it can’t be too long before other operators in Canada, as well as the US catch up.
