At the World Cyber Games, Samsung had this to say, “Perfect for on-the-go gaming, the lightning-fast GS III is powered by Android Jelly Bean, and features a mighty 1.5GHz Advanced Dual-Core processor and stunning graphical capabilities thanks to a 4.8″ Super AMOLED screen.”
Read that again. “…. the lightning-fast GS III is powered by Android Jelly Bean” are what Samsung’s words were. Considering the Galaxy S3 is still on Android 4.0 and is supposed to get the Android 4.1 in Canada in Q4 this year (international models are to get it in October), Samsung Canada’s words seem to suggest the update for Canadian Galaxy S3’s might come much sooner. Samsung is an official sponsor of the World Cyber Games and is touting their Galaxy S3 as perfect for gaming, so this might just be a marketing ploy or even a mistake, but hopefully that’s not the case.
