Jelly Bean update now rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 WiFi. Only in France though, for now.

Samsung Galaxy Tabs are having a good week, it would seem. Earlier today Malaysian Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi users started receiving the much awaited Android 4.o Ice Cream Sandwich OTA update, and now Sammobile reports that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rollout has commenced for the Galaxy Tab 2 7″ WiFi model GT-P3110. The P3110XXCLK5 update is currently only available in France though.

Users in France can either update their devices over-the-air or OTA. In case you don’t see a notification yet, you go to Settings –> About Tablet –> System Updates –> Update to check for the update. Alternatively, the update is also available on Samsung KIES, for those who prefer to update via the computer. In case you want to download the stock firmware, and keep it as a backup on your PC for a rainy day, you can download it from the Sammobile firmware page for the Tab 2 WiFi.

Android 4.1 was released in July this year, and brings along a smoother and more responsive interface thanks to Project Butter enhancements, expandable and actionable notifications, Google Now for automatic context and situation-based information cards, faster browsing, smarter keyboard with offline voice typing, resizable widgets on the homescreen, and various other general performance improvements.

French Tab 2 users are getting Jelly Beaned now, and with the rollout having started, it should’t be to long before other regions start getting it too. As always, we will keep everyone posted as we hear more.
