Microsoft’s upcoming “Your Phone” app will sync texts, photos and notifications from your Android phone to PC

At its Build developer conference, Microsoft announced some good news for smartphone users who own a Windows 10 PC. Yes, Windows Phone is no longer a thing on your phone, but the Redmond company wants you to keep on enjoying phone-friendly features on your Windows PC.

Windows 10 users will get an app called Your Phone. Using this app, it will be possible to access your text messages, photos, and notifications right from your Windows 10 PC. This means you don’t have to leave your PC just so as to check a notification on your phone.

Once Your Phone app syncs to your Android or iOS device, Microsoft says you’ll be able to share data between the connected devices through actions like simply dragging photos from your phone to your PC with no need of touching the phone.

If you are part of the Windows Insider Program, you should be able to download Your Phone app in the course of this week. As for the rest, we don’t have an exact release date yet but it’ll be available with Windows 10 Autumn update later this year.
