For quite sometime, there are speculations that Samsung is working on a circular smartwatch and it was expected to go official at the MWC 2015 tech show. But, there was no such luck to see a wearable getting launched alongside the flagship smartphones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

In an interview, regarding the failure to announce a smartwatch at the MWC 2015, Young-hee Lee, Samsung’s Executive Vice President of Mobile Marketing claimed that they are planning to break the tradition of releasing smartphones and smartwatches together. It is also claimed to support gesture controls to enhance the software experience.

The circular smartwatch from Samsung is likely to be called Orbis and it is expected to take the user experience to an all new level. It is can be used as a necklace, armband, keychain and so on, and is expected to render a luxurious look and feel. The report adds that the Gear 2 camera will be a part of the Orbis smartwatch.
