Upcoming Huawei Android Phone Specs Rumored: 4.9″ 1080p display, 6.3mm thin, 1.8GHz quad-core display

Samsung may have some serious competition in China when it launches the Galaxy S4 there – according to rumors from some Chinese websites, Huawei is working on a new flagship smartphone with top of the line specs, specs that match those of more popular Android flagships this year.

The phone – which hasn’t been given a name yet – will sport a quad-core 1.8 GHz K3V3 Cortex-A15 processor (developed in-house), the powerful Mali T604 GPU found on Samsung’s Nexus 10, a 4.9-inches 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, and a 2,600 mAh battery. All these beastly specs will be housed in a body 6.3mm thick, which is normal given Huawei’s recent track record of going thinner and thinner with every new device.

According to the rumors, this Huawei phone will be announced some time in April, only three months after the Huawei’s current flagship Ascend D2. With the Galaxy S4 expected to launch in late April/early May in most markets, Huawei seems to be planning everything nicely to have a competing device in the market, no doubt at a lower price to make the deal even sweeter and desirable.

We’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure, and while an international release outside China isn’t very likely, we’ll certainly be hoping it happens if these specs and affordable pricing are included in the package.
