Android Things developer preview 3 released, brings USB Host support

Google has released a new developer preview for Android Things, which brings a couple of new features and bug fixes to the software. The Android Things Developer Preview 3 (DP3) is available for download right now.

The latest preview now works with all available Android Bluetooth APIs on all supported Android Things hardware. Both Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy devices will work with the latest update.

Developer preview 3 also gets much needed USB Host support. You can now use custom coded USB devices with Android Things hardware. These are the two new features added in this preview. As mentioned earlier, there are other bug fixes included as well.

Android Things is the platform for developers to build Internet of Things(IoT) and other smart devices. It is a great initiative of Google to provide an easy and secure platform for the developers. The latest preview is available for download at the source link.
