nexus 6p 5x bootloop fix

Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X remain to be among our favorite phones to date. Powered by top-notch hardware specs, great cameras, always up-to-date software and available on the cheap, the Nexus 6P and 5X have since been replaced by the expensive Google Pixels, but this doesn’t mean the phones are still not in use out there.

Despite all their greatness, one thing that has been infuriating Nexus 6P and 5X users for years is the bootlooping issue. For the uninitiated, this is where the phones won’t get past the booting screen, something that has on numerous occasions been associated with the high-performance Cortex A57 cores in both Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 808 chipsets used on the two phones, respectively.

How to fix bootlooping on Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X

In order to take care of the bootlooping issue, Cortex A57 cores (four on the 6P and two on the 5X) must be disabled on either phone, but how do you do this? Well, thanks to some geeky XDA members, we now have a script that can easily (not per se) be applied to fix the bootloop issues on the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

Warning: You should know this! The developer of this trick has made this clear that this would result in phone getting slower. About 2 times in the case of nexus 6P, while about 1.5 times in the case of Nexus 5X. Also, as this will delete everything on your device, you shall back up all the stuff on your phone to PC that you need to.

How to: To get it done, you’ll have to download the zip file from the source page here and keep to the instructions provided. However, the creators of the fix warn that you must have OEM unlocking enabled on your Nexus 6P or 5X, otherwise, flashing the files won’t work.
