Sprint releases new updates for LG G7 and Galaxy S10 5G

Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone

One of the leading telecom companies in the US, Sprint mobile, has started rolling out software updates to the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and LG G7 ThinQ. The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is being granted this month’s security patch, while LG’s 2018 flagship is receiving last month’s.

Sprint isn’t always the fastest when it comes to releasing software updates, and the latest releases haven’t done anything to improve their reputation.

The update for the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G looks like a routine security update, as the device is only getting the September 2019 security patch. The OTA carries build number G977PVPS2ASI1.

The same can be said about LG G7 ThinQ’s update, as well. Carrying software version G710P17a, the OTA brings the August 2019 security patch.

As always these are incremental rollouts, so, it might take a while before your devices get the automatic update notification. To make sure you get the OTA in time, do check for the update manually by going into the software updates section of your phone.

Coming to major software updates, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will be one of the first devices to get the Android 10-powered One UI 2.0. LG, on the other hand, hasn’t announced whether it’d grant the G7 a taste of 10, but it’d be foolish to rule the device out.
