Verizon pushing OTA update to Moto Z Play Droid Edition and Galaxy Tab S2 devices

US based carrier, Verizon is rolling out OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (T817V and T818V variants) and the Motorola Moto Z  Play Droid Edition.

The software version of the update for Galaxy Tab S2 regular and Tab S2 2015 refresh are MMB29K.T817VVRS2BPL1 and MMB29M.T818VVRU1AQA3 respectively. Both if these builds are based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but an update to Nougat is coming soon, as we earlier spotted the Android 7.0 getting certified for Tab S2 at WiFi certification.

The OTA update for the two Galaxy Tab S2 tablets and the Moto Z Play Droid Edition optimize device performance, fix known issues and bugs, and also install the latest security patch. As for the Moto Z Play Droid Edition, the Verizon exclusive device is also getting a fix to low notification volume sound.

The Z Play’s update, build MCOS24.104-35-1-19 is also based on Marshmallow, but with the Android 7.0 Nougat update hitting Z Play hitting Europe as stable release now, particularly Portugal and Spain, we’re sure the Verizon’s variant isn’t too far to secure a Nougat OTA of its own too. While the Z Play in China is undergoing beta testing for Nougat update.

Before updating the above mentioned devices, ensure that you take a backup of any important data and make sure your device has sufficient charge of at least 50% and download the update preferably over WiFi.
