For quite sometime, we have been hearing a plethora of rumors regarding the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone. While nothing has made it certain so far, the latest one suggests that we might not have to wait for long for the device to be unveiled.

As per a recent report, the new Nexus 5 might possibly arrive in August alongside the final build of the Android M. The reports citing an anonymous tipster does not confirm if the upcoming device that will arrive with the latest version of Android will actually be the new Nexus 5.

Furthermore, the source does not confirm if Google has partnered with both LG and Huawei to launch the device. As per a different report, it is claimed that LG is working on a smaller variant of the Nexus 5. It also states that unlike the previously launched Nexus devices, the alleged Nexus 5 (2015) will not be based on the manufacturer’s flagship smartphone LG G4.

Talking of the possible specifications, it is likely that Google will make use of a 5.3 inch device based on Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with 3 GB of RAM. The device is said to arrive in two variants – 64 GB and 128 GB of native storage space. The device is likely to arrive with a 16 MP main snapper at its back and a 5 MP front facer for video conferencing and selfies.

As per information from a source close to the engineering team of Google, it is likely to see a major design improvement on the Nexus 5 (2015). The company is said to use resistant carbon fiber to build the more durable body and fingerprint sensor at its back. The device will arrive with features such as wireless charging, fast charging and USB Type-C support.

There is a possibility for the final release of the Android M platform to happen in August if the third preview of the build goes official in July. Also, there is no official word from Google regarding the same, and we need to wait for the same.
