Lava IRIS 80 images revealed through FCC documents

A new Lava device by the name Lava Iris 80 just made an appearance at FCC. You may not have heard of the India based manufacturer, but it has long standing presence in the country. Plus, it focuses mainly on the budget segment mobile devices. We don’t have much on the device itself that just passed through FCC, but the certification tells us that it comes with a 2500mAh battery.

Perhaps the Iris 80 may serve as a follow up on the Lava Iris X8 which was launched in 2015. Following on that tangent, the Iris 80 may receive 2GB/3GB of RAM and may be powered by a modest chipset from MediaTek. From the picture shown above, the back of the device also houses a fingerprint sensor.

Last month, Lava launched two mid rangers the Lava Z10 and  Lava Z25, based on the smaller battery and the fact that the Iris series has always been targeted at the budget market, we can safely say that the upcoming Iris 80 could be an entry-level device too.

Many entry-level smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 4, Nubia N1 Lite, etc. are priced attractively and offer a fairly good range of specs. Lava’s pricing schemes have always put it at a disadvantage when competing with Chinese OEMs especially. But let’s see what’s the company is planning for the Lava Iris 80 when it launches into the market.
