Kodak IM5, the firm’s first smartphone goes on sale in Europe for €280

At the CES 2015 tech show, Kodak announced its first ssmartphone. Now, the device has been listed for sale in Netherlands. The device is called Kodak IM5 and it is available for a price of €280 (approx. $315) without a contract or for free with contracts on several carriers.

The Kodak IM5 was manufactured by a U.K. based firm Bullitt Group for Kodak and it was intended to be launched in the U.K. initially. Bullitt Group is known to make rugged CAT smartphones.

The Kodak smartphone runs on Android KitKat operating system, but is said to receive the Android Lollipop update sometime in the future. The new smartphone has a simplified Kodak UI that is aimed at the customers who are looking to buy a smartphone that is easy to use than the one they are using at present.

Talking of specs, the Kodak IM5 features a 5 inch display with HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and it is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone packs in 8 GB of default memory capacity that can be expanded further.

On the imaging front, the Kodak IM5 features a 13 MP primary camera at its rear and a 5 MP main shooter at the front. There is a unique image management software onboard the device. The entire package is powered by a 2,100 mAh battery.

While unveiling the Kodak IM5 smartphone, the firm announced that the device will be launched in globally. However, we are yet to see when this smartphone will make its way into the other markets.
