MWC 2015: HTC One M9 announced, it’s as it was shown in leaks

After all the leaks and speculations from the past few weeks, HTC One M9 has finally appeared on the stage today in Barcelona at MWC 2015. HTC streamed the whole launch event live on YouTube, which just ended now. But in case you missed the live stream, know that you haven’t really missed anything since the M9 launch was everything we saw in the leaked promotional videos late last month. The launch event didn’t go very exciting since everyone of us had already seen the leaked videos, and it was only disappointing to see HTC playing the same promotional videos on stage at MWC. We feel sorry for you HTC!

Anyway, the One M9 carries the same specsheet as the leaks suggested. The phone packs Qualcomm’s latest beast Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM, 20.7MP camera on the back with dual LED Flash and a 4MP Ultrapixel camera on front. As for the front speakers, One M9 will feature Dolby Audio Surround Sound for immersive movie and music experience.

On the front, One M9 looks very similar to One M8, but the sides and back of the device are slightly different. You’ll see hairline brush effect all over the back of the device, while the sides of the phone are toned to a different color, much like some of HTC’s recent launches in Desire series.

Also, as reported earlier, One M9 features Sense 7 which comes with a couple of cool new features. The new launcher on Sense 7 adapts to your location. If you’re at home, the launcher will show you the apps you use most at home and if you’re at Work, it’ll show you Work apps on your homescreen. Also, the new themes feature on Sense 7 let’s you completely customize your device’s UI to your choice.

For more on features of the device, check out our post → HTC One M9 Features. Although, it’s completely based off the leaked promotional videos, but as it turns out HTC was showing the same videos on stage at the launch event. We feel sorry for HTC for having all of their hard work leaked out before making an official appearance.

HTC One M9 is now listed on the company’s official site. Check it out here → htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-one-m9.
