HTC announced Android 2.3 for Desire HD in Korea?

It’s been rumored — without any sources being cited — that Desire HD will be the first HTC device to taste Gingerbread. The update is slated to hit KT (Korean carrier) first, in Q1 2011.

No HTC source was cited on this one so take it with as much grain of salt as possible. We’ve just heard that HTC has announced Android 2.3 a.k.a Gingerbread update for its Desire HD handset. What makes this news more suspicious — other than the lack of definite HTC source — is that Korean carrier KT will get the Gingerbread first of all, sometime in Q1 2011. If you ask us, that’s Q1 is pretty much obvious and we wouldn’t be surprised to see all great 2010 android handsets — like, Droid X, Droid 2, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Desire, etc. and even Galaxy S and family sets — updated by that time. Now, Korea, home to Samsung and LG hasn’t been active place to HTC and one would assume (more than expect) the US HTC devices to get Gingerbread right ahead of others. But there was a bit of news and, that’s it.
